Present Day ...

We, Frank and Mayling Bertorelli have spent the past three years bringing our vision for this café to life. We are now very pleased and proud to introduce “Caffe Bertorelli” to you. We feel privileged to continue the Bertorelli tradition of providing our friends old and new with our take of the Bertorelli experience.  We offer you, our friends a warm and welcoming atmosphere where you can chill and relax,  reminisce about days gone by or just simply collect your thoughts.  We have maintained an art deco feel that is sympathetic to the style of the building and have kept some of the original features of Café Riviera.

We have continued the Bertorelli tradition, making our famous signature Bertorelli vanilla ice-cream which has been passed down through generations and generations of Bertorellis. Furthermore, with the invaluable help and guidance of Domenico Gregorio (gelato expert) of the award winning Ciccarelli’s, we have been able to make our own delicious artisan Italian gelato ice-cream, extending our range and bringing the taste of Italy to Newbiggin by the sea. All gelato and ice-cream is made fresh on the premises and we now offer a wide range of delicious mouth-watering flavours.

We have also sourced our coffee very carefully to offer you the best of Italian coffee experiences and as for our range of cakes and sweet treats, well….. they are just simply delightful.
